Carey has a wide range of accumulated experiences from a career in sales, marketing and business development including over 20 years of practice in real estate management, development and brokerage.

Prior to joining Carriage Properties, Carey was with The I'On Group, the company responsible for the I'On neighborhood in Mount Pleasant, where he participated in various company projects and assignments including having been broker in charge of the realty company and a selling broker. He loves to study the great cities and places of Charleston, Savannah, Alexandria and others and has a passion and appreciation for those inspirational traditional walking neighborhoods. Carey lives on Secession St in I'On with his wife Ann.

Carey's professional and civic activities include former board memberships with The I'On Trust, The South Carolina World Trade Center, Central Carolina Economic Development Alliance, Richland County Appearance Commission and The Fowler Center for Wildlife Education. Carey is a graduate of The University of the South with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.
